(No.3) When the EGR is open the hot exhaust gasses warm up the coolant. Obviously when you blank off the EGR this won't happen. You will likely notice that the engine will take an extra 5minutes to get upto 90°c. My focus is a 2008 1.6 tdci, and I had same problem, wet drivers side footwell carpet. After over 2 weeks and 3 courtesy cars, it was a bulhead leak causing the Disconnect the battery: Disconnect the negative terminal (black) on the battery. Make sure to wrap it in a towel so it doesn’t touch anything metal and create a spark. Remove the fuel filter: Locate the fuel filter, which is typically located along the fuel line under the vehicle, near the driver’s side.

There is a massive recall in UK and Ireland on any Ford with the 1.8TDCI unit at the minute, something to do with the salt on the roads corroding the cooling fan module causing it to overheat and go up in flames. Other than that, havent heard any problems with the 1.8 unit.
dsimcoe. Hi Guys!! For the last 6 months I have been having a slight 'judder' in my engine. This happens between 1,500 rpm and 2,000 rpm and only once the car has warmed up to its optimum 90degree temperature. the feel and the sound is like before you are about to stall or haven't given enough power when pulling away. Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 2007 1.8 TDCi Difficult to pull away at low revs.. All the engineers at the company I work for have all been issued with 2007 Focus 1.8 TDCI estates. Not a bad car but rather dangerous at low revs on roundabouts and such like. It seems that unless you get the engine revving and slip the clutch we have no power . 323 25 366 187 228 377 233 125 233
