The end of the last episode was very much an expansion level set up, and with a certain character loosing their main weapon (a weapon that they could only use because of an elite spec, and that made them one of the walking advertisements for said spec in Heart of Thorns) it seems this person is going to need to grab something new sooner rather
1. the ability to use any espec weapon regardless of traitline (may require expac containing that weapon? not sure) 2. the ability to wield 1 or 2 existing weapons your class could not use before (not available on release of SotO but in one of the SotO updates) I think especs are done. Bring on new classes.
You get hero points when you level. Throughout levelling to 80, you get exactly enough hero points to unlock all base specializations and skills. Any hero points you get in the world just allow you to get those unlocks sooner, and once you are level 80, can be used to start unlocking elite specializations.
Every hero challenge in the expansion gives you 10 points. I always do a quick run through the HoT maps and get the easy hero Points that just require you to press f on the commune point, that should get you about 100 Hero Points, then I do every PoF hero point because they are all soloable.
Thanks for the info! :) To test out elite specs you can go to the PvP lobby and try out any elite spec if you have the expansion unlocked. You can try them out with different stats, sigils runes, weapons on golem dummies or throw your self in the free for all pit against other players, or play some pvp matches instead.
